18 Icarus

18 Icarus

Daedalus said, plume your head
Feathered wing your arm
You’ll fly high, cannot die
If you but fear the sun
You are bird, fly unheard
Life has just begun
Taking flight, you’ll seize the night
Time will come undone

Wanna fly like the wind
Take it high hear it ring
Reach the sky match the wing
Life or die you will sing

Floating weeds, thickening breeze
With the air you rise
Watch the wires, dodge the spires
Fearless in your eyes
On the brink, do not think
Bank the ridge and glide
Once you breathe, take your leave
Swoon into a dive

Wanna fly like the wind
Take it high hear it ring
Reach the sky match the wing
Life or die you will sing

Leave the world, wings unfurled
Mortal coils undone
Eyes close up, nostrils shut
Closer to the sun
Unconscious mind, feathered kind
Singular emotion
Instinct reigns, like moth to flame
Dissolve in starry ocean.

Wanna fly like the wind
Take it high hear it ring
Reach the sky match the wing
Life or die you will sing
